The 21st Annual Tom Rolf Memorial Buddy Bass Tournament was held on May 17th. 58 boats (a record number) set out from Red Oak Resort (owned by Jerry Reinhold, Class of ’74) at The Lake of the Ozarks at 7am to catch that elusive bass. At 4pm, a record number of bass were weighed in. The weather was fantastic all day. The top six fisherman collected a record $2800 amongst them. The BIG BASS was additional $550 for that lucky fisherman. After the weigh in, all fisherman and friends were treated to a huge BBQ dinner. Thanks to Ken Buechter (long time Dragon teacher, since retired and his 3-man crew for preparing a great feast. Special thanks goes to Sharon Lowe (wife of Chris Lowe, class of ’83) for all her help in preparing all the side dishes and the cleanup. Also, a BIG thanks to Jeff Lowe, class’79, Steve Fabick, class of ’83, Jon Long, class of ’95 and Dave Weindel, class of ’68 and his wife Debbie, for their generous donations to the 50/50 drawing and raffle. Hope to see you all back here next year on 5/16/2026 for our 22nd year. Spread the word that you do not have to be a Dragon Alum to fish. Mike Lowe
